What did you do in the garden today?

Anyone else having problems with their Tycoon green coated tomato seeds. It took about 2 months to get one out of 6 seeds to sprout in a petri dish with tissue and water. In addition, the sprout is kind of weak looking. I moved it into coco peat and covered it with a shot glass. I left the green seed slightly exposed with the tail end in the coco peat. I hope it makes it..........:bow

You guys think it's too early to start my seeds inside the house? I'm in michigan but our winter has been like 30-50's
@riss, the cold is coming! The current pattern will shift/change, and we will get winter.

I would not start next year's garden plants yet. If you have a nice sunny south facing window or a heated green house, February 1 would be as early as I'd start them.

I have a passive solar green house (sunshine is its only source of heat) and I don't start my summer seeds until April 1. By then the angle of the sun is high enough to warm up the green house in as little as half an hour. If/when we get half an hour of sunshine. :)

I have some frost tolerant greens planted in the green house right now. I don't expect them to grow quickly. I think I saw a kale sprout. :fl

Was the coating unusually thick?
I had trouble with a coated zinnia seed a while back. The coating was thick like glue. I had poor germination. Only got a few and it took forever.
No, it's very thin like ink. https://www.reimerseeds.com/tycoon_tomato.aspx

I really want to grow these; they produce large tomatoes and only reach 3 feet tall. I saw them growing in a YouTube Garden.
