What did you do in the garden today?

DH said he'd be open to taking out the tub & putting in just a shower, but that doesn't work well for sale if there is no tub.
We want to do this. Don't care a bit about resale value. We'll be here the rest of our lives.
I kept barking my toes
OMG, when I say "I barked my shins," nobody knows what I mean!

A week from tomorrow, we could have a high of 18, and an overnight low of 8.

Tomorrow, a winter storm is headed our way. We're right in the rain/snow demarcation area. If it goes a bit south, we'll get more heavy wet snow. Glad I got the shopping done today.

And, I got some yellow beets at the store. I like them!!! And the greens. Hubby likes the beets too! :th

Goats…. I’m not sure how soon we can tell if they are pregnant. Probably not going to get an ultrasound, unless there’s a compelling reason to do so. These girls are from a set of triplets, their mom had a few triplet sets, and I hear their grandmother too had triplets. So, it’s possible they will have triplets. At least they were full grown (19 months old) when they were housed with the buck for 5 weeks. At most, they may be 2 months pregnant (male arrived Nov 3). We * think * they look chubbier but not sure if our imagination! They are Nigerian Dwarf goats, so they are small anyway.
I separated our buck from the herd when I reintroduced Annie and her 2 kids (1 girl, 1 boy) last May. I was worried that our buck would try to breed her again and maybe even her little doeling. I feel so bad for him every day as he wistfully looks at the girls. Poor fella is so lonely. I need to move Annie's little boy (whom we wethered) in with him or just order a buck apron and let him move back in the herd.

Anyway, he has broken out of his pen at least twice back in October. He could have bred any of the girls (I have 3) which means any of them could be pregnant. I have no idea how to check... I have just been watching their behavior and see if they show any signs of coming into heat again. I did note the dates when he had access to them.

I really need a better set up to keep my boys separated from the girls where they can't see/smell each other. I feel so terrible for poor lonely Peter (my buck).

It's 40 degrees here but raining and super windy so it feels more like 30 degrees. Awful.... I really want a fire in the fireplace, but DH forgot to collect kindling before it started raining so everything is too wet. 😒 I told him to use some empty toilet paper rolls stuffed with lint but he doesn't want to. Ugh. I just want warmth.....

Oh, I almost forgot.... I was surprised to see that I had a bunch of volunteer dill that had sprouted. Of course, with the freezing cold, it will probably be killed off in no time. I wonder if it will re sprout in the spring....

I saw some volunteer dill when I was doing some garden clean up in October. I hope ours comes back in the spring too!

No snow for us. 60's tomorrow with wind and rain.

I thought that was a typo. Not heard it put that way before. 😂
It's an old timey phrase!
