Enjoy it all!G’morning gardeners. Our temps are seasonal so it’s pretty nice outside but it has been breezy off and on for a while now. I’m not coordinated enough to stand on crutches and take pics I guess, they were all blurry. However, I see new growth on one of the chaste trees, possibly on a second. The tiny one doesn’t show anything yet but it’s still bendy so hopefully soon. I got the carrots thinned and today I’m trimming off the branches on the tomatoes below the first flowers. I think I need to put some string around one of the tomato cages for extra support too. Still no chicks, but Attila is still sitting so I’m sending out the troops to get some EE chicks from the feed store today, a fresh batch so they should be young enough. I can’t get her out of her nesting spot without hurting her and haven’t been able to catch her off the nest this week to see what’s going on. I’m ok with getting some chicks from the store though, new genetics in the mix. Time to get busy, chores take all day and that’s annoying. Have a good day all.
Nice carrots, they’re huge! Chickens are the best worker’s aren’t they? My crew does such a good job of breaking down bales of straw and spreading them everywhere.Zone 6a here so we're kinda in fake spring part 1, lol. Ground is soft so I poked around the garden and harvested almost 20lbs of carrots from summer. I had no idea they were there so that was a nice treat. The hens helped per usual. Such good workers they are. Got lots of seeds started inside too

I dont understand their need to flatten all things. They must assume there is always a super grub down at the bottom. i enjoy watching them work it.Nice carrots, they’re huge!
