What did you do in the garden today?

Yes, that is a hyacinth. They smell lovely! The bulb is about the size of a fist.

Here's something my mom taught me about 55 (!) years ago. If you want to pick them, pull the stem straight up.

Are anti-inflammatory?? Going to have some with lunch today!
Sweet potatoes & yams are awesome in many ways! 😋 They are good fiber, have betacarotine, & just so delicious!

Yep.

If you have inflammatory issues like arthritic joints, fibromyalgia, or sinusitis avoid the nightshade family. I can occasionally eat small portions of white potatoes, but tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant I cannot tolerate :hit

I was eating them a lot until I read an article about 80% come from Costa Rica. CR uses a tremendous amount of pesticides to grow them. Along with chopping down the forest to meet the increasing demand.
That said I probably can find something wrong with just about anything on Google :old
I try to grow as much as I can. I have some black raspberry but they have rust from the wild.
Just do the best you can. And eat everything in moderation.

Note: most studies have shown that drinking coffee is good for you. I print out medical studies about coffee and hang them in the kitchen at work.

I wonder if we could go a week without eating any nightshade. We eat a LOT of tomatoes and a fair amount of potatoes. Hubby eats a lot of hot peppers.
I LOVE tomatoes 🍅 & I eat tons all summer. I have allergies, sinus issues, arthritis & fibromyalgia, but I hurt bad when it is cold or very rainy for days. I rarely hurt during summer months at all, when I happen to be wolfing down tomatoes daily. I do not eat tomatoes over winter because winter tomatoes here are tasteless & mushy. So, I really don't know about that 🤔 nightshade causing pain, not when it comes to tomatoes, anyway.
