What did you do in the garden today?

My post got confused with @WthrLady .

Bad timing on my part šŸ˜‚ I should have loaded the new posts while in draft.

My boy is just sick. My brain fog is from a lack of sleep and stress. Possibly getting sick myself, not sure yet.

I haven't tried xyzal, yet.
That's good news that it's not from the xyzal but still it sucks being sick. I get grouchy when I get sick because everyone acts like I'm dying.

DS and I did. No good for us. Caused a nervous disorder. DS actually collapsed.
I thought it was Minanora was the one that posted about the xyzal bad reaction. I'm sorry to hear about your family having issues with it. You can read the rest of what I told her thinking it was her. I hope you both get better soon šŸ™

This evening felt a little cooler than it's been, thanks to a nice little breeze. All the rain missed us completely so I decided to water a bit with the hose... I really need to get my irrigation system put back together and set up in the next few weeks.

Decided my overgrown tomatoes were in desperate need of pruning. The San Marzanos are struggling badly with blossom end rot even though I've treated them repeatedly now with bone meal and fertilizer. The paisanos just a few inches away from them are completely fine.

As I was pruning everything to give them airflow and pull out all the rotted tomatoes, I decided I needed to go to the back side of the bed. I have Sunflowers and corn that are well over 8 ft tall just down from there. Their height is creating a little shaded area right behind the tomatoes. As I stepped into that area to prune from the back side, a huge cloud of mosquitoes swarmed me. ItFor was so bad that I had to immediately leave. I'm not joking when I say I literally need a bee suit to go back in there... I've never seen mosquitoes that thick before. Not even in a swamp! Crazy.
For mosquitos I use a fogger at the lake plus mosquito dunks. You can also use a bucket of doom. A 5 gallon bucket with some water, a few dead leaves and 1/4 of a mosquito dunk. The lay their eggs in it but the larva is killed.

The only good thing about it being so dry is there are fewer mosquitoes. Oh, and hubby doesn't need to mow. So that's two.

Some of the corn near me looks stressed. It's the area of fields that have big trees at the edge. There's a semi-circle near/under the tree that has gotten the "pineapple" look.

Most of the corn around here still looks ok. Ish.

It's pretty dry here too, the lawn is getting crunchy. I watered at 5am to beat the heat.

I found teeny baby green beans. :yesss: All the tomatoes have flowers. I planted too many squash on a trellis, I don't remember them getting this big. I might have to take a couple out.

I need a shady spot in the garden for the bee waterer. It's just too hot. I need the pole beans to get bigger cuz I have no shade!

Allergy appointment this morning. I told her I am miserable half the week, work outside, so I cannot avoid it. And have at least one sinus migraine that makes me useless about every 7-10 days and lasts 12-15 hours and I'm currently using the Navage 2-4 times a day just to keep things in control.
I did say that with all the rain and finally growth everywhere after 3 years of things not growing in drought, that my allergies are hitting harder this year than most, and that I don't think they are currently as BAD as they could be, or have been in normal growing years.

She still wasn't thrilled that I was still SO bad with 18 months of shots once a week, then she reviewed my chart and looked me dead in the eyes and said Do you KNOW HOW allergic you are to everything? I laughed and said, I am fairly aware yes. LOL

Since nothing else over the counter or prescribed has worked we are now adding in a new spray that has to pass my insurance approval before the company will fill it, so I know what I'm getting into with $$. GREAAAT.
LOL
So now it's shots and some weird new spray, at half dose, since I'm weird with meds too.
GREAAT

Feels like 103 so no gardening today.
I'm so sorry! That's awful! šŸ˜ž
Question you've probably gotten a million times: Have you tried local bee pollen therapy?

Yesterday, I harvested my first pickling cucumbers. I planed a greenstalk-full, because I want to make pickles this year. Of course - I only picked the 4 largest. So I cut then into spears and added them to a jar of pickle juice from store pickles I finished off a couple weeks ago - and left the juice in the fridge.
I also have blossoms starting on my wax bean tower. Yay!

Have any of the ppl that have allergies tried xyzal? I bought the generic form and it worked really well. You take it at bedtime. I don't know if anyone would try it but I don't think it would hurt to try.
Did not do a thing for me unfortunately
