What did you do in the garden today?

No they aren't, they have potting soil in them. They're called GreenStalks & I got them so I could keep gardening after a bunch of back surgeries. It's nice to sit on a bench & pick bush beans & strawberries instead of bending!

Oh boy, lots. I have 7 towers going (1 not set up yet). I have 2 strawberry towers, one June & 1 ever bearing. 1 with greens - lettuce, celery, spinach. 1 Bush beans & edamame. 1 onions & carrots (had radish too). 1 hot peppers. & then 1 with misc leftovers of everything, herbs, flowers & eggplants.

@igorsMistress what color did you end up with?
Wow!! That’s so cool that you can use them for so many things! I’m definitely getting mine set up before fall so I can plant greens this year. I think I got the terra cotta color, black just gets way too hot here. Might be green, but I don’t think so, haven’t even opened the box yet.

The 7-minute additional expansion score on my sour dough made the expansion wider, but it did not form an ear. Next, I will try pre-heating my Breville oven to 480F and turn it off when I place my dough in, without the additional 7-minute score, during the 20-minute steaming stage.

The inside of my sour dough bread has nice air pockets, and I don't like biting into the ear, so it doesn't really matter to me, but I am compelled to solve this mystery ear dilemma.

G’morning all. I watered the grass and melons this morning. Found out why the water goes so fast in one of my buckets, it has a leak so gotta fix that today. I’m pretty positive that the Nn chick is a cockerel, comb is already getting big on him at just a couple of weeks old. His name is Phoenix because he hatched despite our heat wave. Elvis is super close to one hen but he beat my red girl pretty bad and the rest don’t like him. Decided to trade him and his favorite girl Toast back to my son for a few duck girls. I don’t need tons of eggs all year, but I need more than what I’m getting and he doesn’t have many chicken girls to trade with right now.

OK, I just finished baking my second loaf of sourdough sandwich bread. I experimented with them. The lumpy looking loaf was left to proof at room temperature. The smooth loaf was put into the refrigerator for almost 2 hours. The lumpy loaf was baked with the side of the loaf facing lengthwise in front of the oven window. I turned it once midway through the 30 minute baking time. I had to add another 5 minutes to the baking time. The smooth loaf was placed with the ends facing front and back. I let it warm up for 45 minutes on the prep table before I placed it in the oven. This loaf baked in less time. The pans I used are pyrex. I’m pleased with the looks. And as soon as it cools down I can slice into to give it a taste and look at the internal texture.

And I didn’t turn on the AC.
