What did you do in the garden today?

I changed out some of my electric receptacles in my kitchen, they were the wrong depth & I was about to install tile backsplash...I shut the main off for the Whole House while I did it. 😆 Electricity is nothing to mess with, freaks me out. The previous owner did not mark or notate the electric breaker power box well, some circuit breaker switches were not even notated as to what room they were. I do Not want to get zapped!
We decided to buy a new light fixture for our kitchen. In the process of swapping out the old for the new, we discovered the previous homeowner never put in a junction box for the wiring. He literally had a couple of rigged splices loosely wrapped with electrical tape and hanging from a hole in the drywall. The entire light fixture was simply attached to just the ceiling drywall with no other support. It's amazing that it didn't start a fire or come crashing down on someone's head. As soon as we discovered it, I paid an electrician to come get it all up to standard code.

I got most of the weed whacking done in the big garden. I put another piece of cardboard down this morning to smother the weeds and grass in the walkways. I have half a bale of ez straw left so I think I’ll put that on top of the cardboard tomorrow. This heat is ridiculous.

Usually they are ready to pick when the silk starts to turn brown on the ends. You can pull back a little of the husk and see what the kernels look like. If they’re at the size to eat then they’re ready. If the kernels are very small you can put the husks back in place and give the corn more time to finish growing.
Thank you for the info.

Oh the stories they could tell, I'm sure.
We had that situation with a ceiling fan!

@TJAnonymous ,we had a ceiling fan in the kitchen and one day my husband had just opened the door to the refrigerator and the fan came down and hit the door. It would've been my husband's face/neck area had he not opened the door. When some people came in to fix it they found live wires hanging in the attic with no protection from causing a fire and it was close to making contact with the insulation. I definitely know how dangerous, annoying and scary it is to find such ignorance when it comes to electrical wiring.
