What did you do in the garden today?

Woo it’s already gross outside and it’s only a little after 9 here. The cantaloupe has grown outside the wire fence and what sticks out has been stripped of leaves and the end of the vine is shredded. Not sure if the chickens or ducks did that, but apparently it’s quite delisherous. Hubs cut the grass over the weekend, he had to go over it three times, lowering the blade each time, because it’s so thick. I’ve been flooding it only twice a week and it works so much better than a sprinkler. Got the duck pool drained and refilled, added a brick inside and out since the baby can’t get in/out very easily. That’s all for me today. Temps are going to climb all week as our rain chances decrease. We’ve had a tiny amount of rain so far this year, hoping as the season goes we start to get more.
Ducks. I had to block all of my melons and cucumber leaves from them, they have a whole yard of stuff yet they want to strip leaves from my garden stuffs! :he

I planted a Mulberry sapling in my duck yard. It's about 6 ft tall now... But I noticed that some of the lower branches have been pulled down and leaves stripped. Anything that is too high for the ducks to reach is healthy...but they take out any water sprouts or anything trying to bud off the truck if it's under 3 ft.

Yeah, that’s definitely them lol. The chickens are just bad though. I have a line around the yard just their height. Below it nothing grows unprotected.

I ordered a yogurt cheese strainer to make cream cheese-like yogurt spread.
Can you post a picture of this when you get it?

I've "super drained" some of my yogurt to almost the point of a cream cheese. I use mesh bags like you'd store produce in. The worst part of making yogurt is washing those darn bags. :lau

I strained the first batch of yogurt in cheesecloth. What a mess. However, muslin cheese cloth is supposed to work better. I did buy a yogurt strainer but the second batch of yogurt I made was so thick it took an hour to strain 2 cups of yogurt and I only got 1/2 cup of whey. This one is fine stainless steel mesh. The cheese maker strainer will be here Wednesday.

My dog disappeared yesterday. I let her out about 2 PM and laid down for a little over an hour. Got up and no dog. In that time someone called the police and said someone dumped the dog. Police came ran my plates called in the animal shelter and they took my dog off my deck. No one knocked on the door to ask is this your dog. I searched and had a sleepless night. Searched again today. Animal shelter open from 12 to 2. They had her and admitted she took her from my deck.

That’s ridiculous. I can’t believe they actually came on your property and took the dog. I guess you can’t fix crazy.
