What did you do in the garden today?

Me either. Plus I figured we go through one whole half pint of jam/jelly a year here, and I'm low carb so it's a no for me anyway.
So I'll send the grapes to son who can jelly up and use for gifting at his office.
They already think he's amazing as he can cook and bake and do 'weird' stuff, and for an office of computer engineers, that's a compliment. LOL
I love me a pb&j but we don't really do a whole lotta carbs so I make my jam with allulose.
we skipped the p a r k this morning
I totally read that spelled out. :gig

Haven't been to the garden yet. For the question about mayo or MW, if it isn't labeled Best Food's or Hellman's, it's not allowed in my house. The youngest daughter bought a gallon of WinCo brand mayo and I told my husband that I needed mayo for the macaroni salad and someone said there's mayonnaise in the refrigerator, I stopped and said the hell if there is, I wouldn't use that generic ass crap. That is the last time anyone ever decided to buy anything other than Best Food's.

I picked 3 zucchinis, largest one about 8 inches long. Last year I let them all get too big and was overwhelmed with squash. This year I'm picking them on the smaller side. Fewer plants, too.

I poked around looking for green and rattlesnake beans ready to pick but they need 2 or 3 more days. I'll have to pull out the ladder to get to the top of the 10 foot rattlesnake trellis.

I planted my determinate tomatoes too close this year. I used the same spacing last year but the plants were a lot smaller. They got kind of huge this year! I pruned a bunch of the leaf branches to open up the wall of tomato plants for better ventilation and to increase light reaching the fruits.

Blossom buds are forming on a couple of my okra plants! One out of the four butternut squash vines has baby squash on it. The other three have none.

I'm seeing lots of bumblebees (or bumblebee lookalikes), large and small, feasting in my pollinator patch. Zinnias are doing great despite getting very little water but the marigolds aren't doing so hot. The crocosmia is bringing in hummingbirds. Parsley blossoms attract tiny parasitic wasps.

I knocked over the tops of the last three yellow onion plants in the garden so they'd start going into dormancy. Shallots might be part of the garden next year.

Well... Getting some much-needed LIGHT rain this morning and afternoon. Likely not much more than a tenth of an inch, I'm guessing... But the weather is nice and cool. I'll wait until it stops raining late this afternoon to go finish clearing out the jungle...

Still never got around to the strawberry barrels either. They badly need cleaned up. I had a lot of leaves die off due to stress from lack of water. I still haven't had time to fix my irrigation system from when DH ran it over with the mower and killed the end connector that connects to the water timer.

Speaking of, my expensive Melnor water timer is leaking... It's barely a year old! I need to figure out if there's a warranty on it. It didn't even stay out in the garden past October so it should NOT be leaking from just a few months of use! :rant

Although I’m going to try making my own with duck eggs, we’ll see. I do use MW, one thing only and it’s a darn good dip.

I put plastic net/fence around my melon bed after something harvested a cantaloupe and left the rind in the yard.

Today I discovered that something chewed a hole in the bottom of two cantaloupes that were just about ready to harvest. The flock is enjoying the seeds and what's left. I am SO aggravated.

I tried mixing one part MW with two parts blue cheese salad dressing for dipping veggies and really liked it. I grew up on Miracle Whip, and was a young adult before I tasted real mayonnaise. I thought the mayo was too bland, but I guess it's sort of OK now.

I don't know how old my Kenmore top load is. It was left here when I bought the house. It squeaks, it walks around on the floor sometimes and makes the kitchen cabinet doors rattle when it's spinning an unbalanced load, but it keeps on cleaning my laundry.

Along with the electric stove, the refrigerator and the dishwasher that were left here too I'm prepared (mentally, not financially) to repair or replace them as they die.
Good idea keep the old appliances. I'm so disappointed by the quality of the stuff they put out now. We had a flip house with harvest gold washer and dryer , I begged my hubby to bring them home. I guess washer hoses freeze so can't be stored:eek:. DANG IT. That was when they built quality, I've heard from repairmen Maytag of new IS NOT THE MAYTAG OF Old. They sold out and they're made by GE or something like that.
