What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning & happy Saturday! 1st weekend I've had off on a long time. Got a big list to do!

*Eggs to market
*Stop at Lowe's, talk about getting my darn schedule posted (it's been verbal for over 2 weeks already)
*Load the truck with some wood debris I don't want rodents taking up residence in as I know they will
*Take that load to the dump
*Laundry in between everything I'm doing...new dryer is great 👍
*Cut grass (or should I say my 2 acre nutsedge lawn 😆)
*Get firepit going, lots of tiny wood piece scraps & yard & tree debris
*Free range the chickens while I'm out there
*Bring new cat out on harness to get comfortable with surroundings & chickens
*Plant some plants that are still in pots (Roses, Crepe Myrtle, Lavender, Hydrangea)
*Water the garden, plants & fruit trees
*Pick more tomatoes
*Weeding...always weeding!
*A Grocery store run, grab some Vidalia onions, too
*Collect more eggs
*Pickle some eggs
*Make some green tomato relish 😋
*Chase off hawks
*Take another shower cuz it's freaking hot & humid here again
*Make dinner
*Fall asleep on the same movie I've been trying to watch, but always fall asleep on all week 🤣

I did a whole big round of watering and weeding all my plants. Took two hours, haha.
I know, right!
Seems like after work, after all my animals are tended to, I get out there to water & enjoy a peaceful "nestle down & roost for the night" timeframe. Roosters rounding up their straggler hens to the coop, the sky displays gorgeous orangey & pink sunsets, the crickets start chirping, the moon is beautiful & all is calm.
(Except when those darn skeeters buzz my ear)

I got bitten just about a dozen times while I was out. Otherwise, it was a nice day and the scenery was beautiful as always

And that's more than I have accomplished in the past year 😆

All the remaining tomatoes are now sorted by color and in fruit crates with a banana, for those that need it. I have about 120 pounds in the kitchen- 60 of which are red enough to process. I'll do that tomorrow.

The chickens are partying in the garden as we speak.

Giant irrigators are on, softening the ground in anticipation of some real rain coming tonight and tomorrow. 90 today and only 68 degrees tomorrow. I'll take it.
