What did you do in the garden today?

I have just one long squash vine and it is overwhelming me. I must have already picked 20 squashes off them. I have to keep chopping the shoots that start to hang over to my neighbor's yard.

I have it hanging on a nylon trellis 6ft. above. When I am done with them, I will throw the vine and nylon trellis away in my trash bin.

I love this, except the latter bit. I've spent a lot of time with my extended family who lives in HI. I've spent months cleaning trash up on Kauai; helped make solar power work at the arrays on the Board of Water supply's tanks. Put solar monitoring on arrays up at the highest peaks on the big island; Keck Observatory and others. My brother and his wife are on Oahu even. My Uncle is on the big island. My other brother (sister in laws husband) was raised on Oahu and lived in Moloka‘i for a long time. We gotta find you a better trellis that you can compost with that vine sister. It's hard enough to get things on the islands, lets not send things to the bin. <3 I mean that with all the love in my heart. No disrespect or shame on any level. We can do more!

The things I think about... What the heck goes on in my head...I don't even know. But with all of the micro plastics and nano plastics we try the best we can to be vigilant. It's hard. We even had to stop buying flats of canned sparkling water because of the stupid plastic bits that connect 6 cans in each flat. BESIDES the outside plastic wrap... It's never ending. I'm actually planning on replacing the door panels of our off road vehicle with metal panels as they are destroyed. Yup. I'm off tilt. And I'm happy to be, and I'll keep doing better as often as I can. Though... I won't lie, I miss cling wrap and zip loc bags.

You're a hero! I remember taking lunches to school wrapped in waxed paper. Paper grocery bags have made a big comeback here in Australia, with most supermarkets having now stopped using the plastic. Ive always used cloth bags and my mother always carried a cane basket.

There's something to be said for that! That's why I really want to harvest seeds from the bean plants I've been covering at any threat of frost, for over a month now.

My original Music garlic came from a local farm stand, so it was grown in this area. That was several years ago. I wish I knew how many... I'm going to guess 6 or 7.

I wonder if softneck would grow well here? One way to find out... but not this year. I have 120 cloves planted, and I think that is enough.

I could send you a couple bulbs next year. I think they were silver skin.

You're a hero! I remember taking lunches to school wrapped in waxed paper. Paper grocery bags have made a big comeback here in Australia, with most supermarkets having now stopped using the plastic. Ive always used cloth bags and my mother always carried a cane basket.

I always take my permanent bags to the grocery store for bagging. When I ask them to use my bags, they just look at me like it's a pain, so I typically end up bagging my own groceries in stores where they have baggers as they walk away. Some will try to cram everything in the cold reusable bag for frozen and dairy items so I end up doing that myself too. Sheesh. Yes, away with plastic already. Seems it's difficult to purchase anything without it. All that diesel and whatever else they put in plastic.

I use the plastic bags to pickup after the dog, dispatched varmints, rotten eggs that didn't hatch, kitchen garbage bag.....

Morning Gardeners, We have like 15 drink enhancers reuse water bottles.
Washington state is quite progressive that way.
We have many reusable grocery bags.
I made half our bags of natural burlap.
Sun is out today!
