What did you do in the garden today?

Really makesyou wonder what they’re thinking.
My dad was in a VA Home in Livermore, CA. It was beautiful scenery in the hills. I went to visit him one day and all the veterans were lined up outside looking at the turkeys lounging on the lawn. I asked my dad and his buddies if those turkeys were sitting out there together because they wanted to amuse themselves by watching the "turkeys" (the veterans) today... 🤭

One of my Azaleas turned out a genetic defect... Wish I could replicate this

Today I planted four more blackberries in the mini-orchard. While I was there, I dug up and divided a clump of yellow trillium that volunteered there and re-planted half in the same spot and the other half under the nesting boxes on the coop. I also planted two heuchera along the driveway, and some river oats by the creek. And tore out loads of honesuckle and poison ivy vines (I know I'll pay for that later). I started adding soil to the raised beds for some veggies I bought but ran out of steam for the day.

No gardening today. It’s currently 79F. We may get an evening thunderstorm. Not having a stellar day. When I took my wee beasties out for their first potty this morning it took me a while to wake up and notice that my little boy dog was sniffing a dead bunny in the yard. Apparently it was a bit gruesome, there was blood on the patio, the steps and fluffs of bunny fur here and there. Not something I wanted to see before coffee. My little guy has been very upset over the death of his dear bunny that provided his morning treats. I really hope we get some rain to clean up the crime scene. I’m not sure what attacked it. I thought a fox at first but I think the fox would have carried the carcass away. Likely an owl. I hope it visits some other yard tonight.
