What did you do in the garden today?

Sound like too much love there ❤️

My pot plants now died of drowning from the excessive continuous rain.

Some of my pot plants died before because I added in compost from my done compost bin, I think the garden lime I put in killed my plants. Might be too much lime.
For your information Alaskan fish fertilizer 5-1-1 has a ph of about 5 when a TBS of it is mixed with a gallon of water and the Alaskan Bloom 0-10-10 for flowering and fruiting has a ph of 3.50 to 4 when 1tbs is mixed with a gallon of water and it can be used to balance a high ph soil. I use those cheap soil moisture and ph meters for reference, but it doesn't match the reading of my expensive hydroponic meter when I measure the run-off water in the bottom tray of my containers. The soil meter says 7 but the reading of the runoff water says 5.50. I think the reading of the run-off water is more accurate.

I think I am the only person in the world who has killed 4 -- FOUR! -- trumpet vine plants.

I killed 1 - but it was the only one I had. I have just bought yellow trumpet vine and planted it in a pot near water so I don't forget to water it. when it gets strong roots sometimes by the winter I will plant it in the soil.

What is the pH of your tap water? I know ours is neutral so I’m going test this when I fertilize this morning. Out of curiosity only.

I'm planning to plant carrots in one of the pea patches today. My new chicks are growing fast in their section of the big girls' coop.

I found out that we can name our mango or fruit trees that we grow from seed. Since it's grown from seed rather than a grafted variety, it’s genetically unique, meaning it could have distinct traits compared to the original mango tree. However, if we want to officially register it as a new cultivar, we need to go through a plant patent process, which requires proving its uniqueness and stability over generations through grafts and clones. Clones must show consistency with the parent.
