What did you do in the garden today?

I cut all the bok choi plants from my garden this morning. I ended up with 800 grams, which I'm preparing to ferment into bok choi sauerkraut. Never heard of doing that, but it's a type of cabbage so it should work. It sure is green!

So interested in how this comes out! Always wanted to try it with collard greens, but never seem to have enough time. Keep us posted.

Weeded the garden today, mulched the berry bushes, and watered everything. Also got my comeuppance from my best buddy hen. I’d been playing with her a bit, apparently a little too rough for her. She tolerated me for a couple of days then finally clearly informed me that she had had enough by nipping me ( drew blood actually).I made amends now were back to being best buds.

On 3/11/2025, I bought some tiny potatoes from my supermarket to eat and decided to grow 12 of them in a perlite wicking tub. They were dying back, so I harvest them today 5/2/2025. It's been about 2 months since I planted them.
I kept the reservoir full by adding about a qt of master blend solution daily. I got back way more than I planted, and they were about the same size as the ones I bought. On my next attempt, I will add another row of 6 for a total of 18 plants, and use the same tub set up. However, I won't cover the top with pine shaving like I did the last time. I am thinking about using strips of black plastic between the 3 rows to keep the sun lite off the potatoes.
