What did you do in the garden today?

I found space in the garden to plant some Black Seeded Simpson leaf lettuce seeds this morning. I'll get 6 plants if enough seeds germinate.

@cj2024 , when I was a kid we had fried eggplant sandwiches. 1/4 inch thick slices fried in oil and eaten between slices of bread with ketchup.

Salt and pepper, and I think the slices were just coated with flour, no batter. The skin was left on too if I remember correctly.

Rain stopped early this morning. About 1 inch. Too wet to mow or garden for a while. Raspberry pie is done. Mowed some after it dried. Need to weed after the rain. Easier to pull.

That sounds about right, one inch was too thick. Also, maybe a batter would hold it together.

We have this sandwich called “Sabih”, and it has salted aubergine, let it sit for an hour and then deep fry, no bread crumbs or anything

Hand pollinated the gourds, because I haven’t seen any bees… and tied and pruned the tomatoes. I also picked some herbs for tea.
I have two sick chickens at the moment, one is sick for almost a week already, and the other caught it yesterday. Some type of respiratory illness and I can’t get medication for them. Another one has healed already, so hopefully they’ll all be fine.

have there been any bombing around you? bees run away from guns (not sure what exactly, I am not a gun expert). you might need to hand pollinate everything.

green onions, peppers and squash according to the list are not enough in my case, lol.
