What did you do in the garden today?

Exactly lol I will use mine too. Just used it in fact. How else am I supposed to heat up leftovers??????? On the stove? In a pan? That take forever AND isn’t possible for some leftovers LOL
😂 I feel old. I grew up without a microwave. Yes stovetop or in the oven or eat it cold.
Grandma talked about how great it was when they got a refrigerator. Didn't have to cut ice from the creek, store it in sawdust, get it in the icebox and deal with the water melting.

Yeah, but it's the potato vs po-tat-o argument. I still find it deceptive marketing. They do the same thing with MSG and other bad stuff.

I read a few days ago that Texas passed a law to outlaw like 40 food preservatives and chemicals that are outlawed in pretty much the rest of the world. Given that it's not feasible for food companies to manufacture separately for Texas, it means we will get some real clean up on our food supply chain... 👏 I just want them to stop hiding toxic and industrial waste in my food and trying to hide it under names no average person recognizes or knows what it really is...
They already have substitutions they are required to use in Europe for most.
I was watching something they were saying they change a couple molecules and then it's different, they call it something else and slide it in under the radar.

How difficult/time consuming is bee keeping?
Sorry to laugh but you start by dropping almost $1000 to get started, and then the dummies are always trying to leave. You spend all your time trying to get them to not leave or die from parasites or disease.
Seriously though, I love beekeeping. About 50% of the time. :lau

Oh wow!!!!!!!

We had rain, so I weeded and weeded, so much easier with damp/somewhat wet soil.

We will plant the strawberries (our first) and sweet potatoes tomorrow.

Part of the weeding was for the "weed" purslane, which we cultivate. Look up the nutrients/health benefits of this "weed" in the USA. Loaded with Omega3 and antioxidants, this pic was prior to my second elimination of weeds.

In Europe, Fruit Loops (ugh) and Doritos (ok, we like them but no longer eat them) are not allowed to include red dye #40 (bad) but the USA allows it. A number of food additives are allowed in the USA but not in other countries.

I purchased generic Tums for a couple of chickens (3 days ago) and found they, and original Tums, had red dye #40! Why? This is for adults, we Don't need the pretty colors...but guess some do...marketing.

Does it take more time to read All the ingredients on a label, yes. Is it worth it? Yes! Okay, I'll stop my rant.

Shadrach recommended an app that scans the barcode and tells you if it has bad ingredients. And shows better options.

If it is an ingredient that you do not know, due to the "scientific" name, don't buy it. Many still do not know that Glyphosate is Round-up- ugh. What we are ingesting into our bodies by deception. I will add it is also our fault that we do not investigate. We didn't have to do this 3 okay maybe 4 decades ago.

My Mtn Dews today stained my teeth and lips blue, for example. I managed to get it off my teeth but not my lips yet… it wasn’t the normal green/yellow Mtn Dew, it was a couple other, different flavors, that are different shades of blue. Anyway, I think the first one stained them the most, but I LOVE Mtn Dew so still drink it unfortunately but it IS annoying and a little concerning it stains like that LOL but I just won’t buy that flavor again. Didn’t really like that one anyways. But I’m aware how many chemicals and bad stuff Mtn Dew has in it and working towards quitting eventually (and all caffeine) but for now, I still drink it. I’m just working on drinking less of it in a day until I get to zero. But yeah.
