What did you do in the garden today?

Comfrey and wormwood plants are specialty plants, they are not available in majority of nursery here, only specialty nursery and even they only have it once in awhile, not a stock plants.

I read that they are great for chickens. It took me a long time to get these plants and comfrey like a delicate plants, often died off and I potted a few so I still have 2 in a pots.

Wormwood plant I had survived, but it does not do so well, seem to delicate, but on the internet these plants are all glory and enduring.

What did I do wrong? Thank you for any advice.

Weeds seem to grow faster than my vegetables, will need to spend more time in the beds. Deer have once again laid waste to my apple trees. Solar powered electric fence is something I am interested in.

Deer can jump over an 8 foot fence so I’m not sure if an electric fence would work

Deer are scared of dogs. They had the run of this place and ate all of the hostas, like dozens of them, before we bought it. Bring out the border collie and that all stopped. Then came the corgi to help. They are all around this place and we see them every single day in the neighboring fields, but they do not step foot here.

If you can't have dogs, can you find a friend who would bring theirs out for a few days? I'd walk the perimeter with them several times.

Two fences. Tall one on the inner fence, second fence... I think it's supposed to be like 6 feet away.... Maybe that one is supposed to be tall as well... MIgardener did a YouTube video on a deer fence to help protect their orchard. It was a good design. And not super costly.

I caught another rat today. I am on fire!

Freeze drying more apricots. Also two peaches sliced. Yay! I harvested a fraction of what is ripe on one of the peach trees today. Loading them into baking sheets to pre freeze for the next freeze drying run.

Gobstopper Cherry tomatoes are incredible. Will definitely grow them again next year.

MIL is picking up her chickens tomorrow! I'll have 6 less chickens. Then I can put them back to work in the chicken run on weeds and such.

Jumped on the trampoline with DS this evening. Getting easier! We'll see how I feel tomorrow.
