What did you do in the garden today?

After I planted my white eggplants into a 5-gallon pot, it didn't take long for the aphids to totally infest all the leaves. I needed an easy way to spray all the leaves, so I filled an Ortho hose spray canister with liquid detergent and set it to mix 2 oz of detergent per a gallon of water and sprayed it on the aphids. The nozzle on the Ortho hose spray canister can turn up or down making it easy to get under the leaves. I am going to spray the white fuzzy stuff on my mango tree when I feel like it. I can't say when I have time because I have all the time in the world after retiring.

One of my mystery sweet pepper plants is blooming so I put a tulle bag over the blooms to keep it from cross-pollinating with the Cayenne. My first time bagging a plant so 🙏 it works. And the bags were intended for squash and such so I should probably get smaller ones for future use. 😅
I should have probably done that given one of my pepper pots has a cayenne and bell pepper plant in it 😅

I saved some seeds from an orange bell pepper bought from the store and I have no clue what variety it is but my god it is amazing. It currently has 7 peppers (ranging from just having the flower fall off to almost full size) and 10-15 more flowers and flower buds. It isn’t some crazy big plant either. It is actually pretty small. It is in a 3ish gallon pot and only 2.5 feet tall. I should probably fertilize it more but I only have liquid fertilizer and it rains too much to have to water them frequently

I planted the summer squash this morning. I plan on planting the Brussel sprouts and pickling cucumbers tomorrow. I watered the grape vines as well. This afternoon I tried out my new string trimmer on the old hens chicken yard. It’s works ok. After sitting with the young hens and feeding the dogs I’ll work on mowing the backyard. I’m still mending so I spread the work out and take breaks. We never got the little bit of rain yesterday and the next opportunity isn’t until next Sunday. So sorry about your broken thumb @BirdsBeesTrees, I hope it mends quickly.

It’s in full sun
I have a couple tomatoes in full shade and they are the same as this one just have more full foliage
I stand corrected. LOL

The tomato plants I have growing in full sun all day long are growing kind of tall too. The tomatoes that get sun only half the day are shorter and bushier. Weird.
