I should have probably done that given one of my pepper pots has a cayenne and bell pepper plant in it View attachment 4179632

If one of them bloomed significantly before the other you might be able to save seeds from that individual fruit.

Beyond that, it might not be too late to bag any new ones depending on your first frost date and how long it takes the pepper varieties you’re growing to mature.

What do you do with rutabaga?

You can cook it and mash like a potato. Lots of butter and sour cream! Yum!

Those look better than the sad little things I grew last year. I keep looking at the greenery on this year’s carrots and wondering if I’m going to be disappointed again; lots of greenery but I can’t see any carrot root peeking out of the soil.

Feeling depressed.
Last Sunday night I hurt my thumb really bad. I toughed it out and it seemed to be healing but then last night while doing chores I hurt it again and it was really bad. My husband was at a funeral visitation, and I texted him that I might need to go to the ER. I toughed it out but this morning I told him I was ready to go.
But we got 4 inches of rain and the basement was flooded, so we cleared a drain and went to the ER. Yeah, my thumb is fractured.
I have chickens to butcher and things to can. My middle son is getting married on the 2nd and we are helping them move to Wyoming. I don't have time for this right now.

I am so sorry my left thumb found the right hand cut the hand pretty bad.
Bright red around it.

My shoulder is still very angry. I could hardly turn out of the driveway today without snagging the tendon and grumbling to myself. So another day of taking it easy.

How are the injured today?
I hadn't been on since Sunday and it seems like everyone is hurt.

Those smaller ones are perfect for roasting! A little olive oil, salt n pepper baked in the oven!
