Now I have used BT for brassica worms, loppers, etc. Never thought of using it on vine borers. How does it work on squash bug nymphs? Squash bugs have caused me to give up on zucchini…..and pumpkin is an iffy proposition with me as well.View attachment 4182920
Here is what I use, but any brand will work. It's a bacteria that kills the Squash Vine Borer larvae inside the vine of your squash. Harmless to humans and is considered organic.
Well, guess where I moved from. Looks like I'm haying tomorrow. There is no hot dry window for the next two weeks. And from there when we do get hot, it's too short. So I'm doing it.The dew points are comparable to the Gulf Coast apparently this upcoming week. Good thing you aren't haying!!! That would be a heatstroke for sure! The positive side is our hay around here looks great still! These rains have been perfectly timed.
Be careful! You are going to have an awesome cutting! WOW - you animals will be so happy!Well, guess where I moved from. Looks like I'm haying tomorrow. There is no hot dry window for the next two weeks. And from there when we do get hot, it's too short. So I'm doing it.
I'm never out long.
Couple hours tops.
Unfortunately, it won't do anything for the nymphs. I only plant long island cheese pumpkins. They have a solid stem, so SVB don't bother them at all . I actually thought of taking a year off from all squash next year. A sure cure I would think for squash bugs. But can you imagine a year with no squash???Now I have used BT for brassica worms, loppers, etc. Never thought of using it on vine borers. How does it work on squash bug nymphs?
