I think potatoes like a Ph of around 5.5-6.0. I unintentionally overshot one year to a 7.0 and noted a significant reduction in production. The plants did still produce howeverI might have to test the soil in that case.
Mine dump the kids between 4 and 8 weeks most of the time. This recent broody hen of ours, about six weeks after hatching her peeps, has turned neurotic and dismissive. Pure pyscho.
Yeah, she has actually been a really good mom. She has them out and about on their own a lot of the time yet they all still hang together often. But, she has turned completely nuts going out of her way to ignore our efforts to corral her when needed(intentionally attempts to defy us), she goes ballistic when we get close to her screaming and flapping her wings as she runs off, behaves as if she’s starving most of the time and is generally dismissive. Pure spazoid psycho.Mine dump the kids between 4 and 8 weeks most of the time.
They try to drive them away from food and don't even think of roosting by mom
WOW - it was awful! My garden is a mess and branches down everywhere, but not any big ones thank goodness! We got 80 mph winds and no rain . What is it with wind this year?? Supposed to get the same tonight I just found out. We didn't have power all day, but do now. Literally, got the cars out of garage to pull generator out and it came on that minute. Stay safe tonight! Good thing your hay is all tucked away safe and sound!@Justagalwithchicks You OK? OMG that was insane. My systems got knocked offline right before the worst. I know we hit 80mph winds. We had everything shut last night, but I forgot to shut down the chicken run. Going to check on the pullets as soon as I can get out there. It's still too insane out. They have to be soaking wet and terrified.
I hope your pullets are ok! Lock them up tight tonight! Winds and heavy rain coming!@Justagalwithchicks You OK? OMG that was insane. My systems got knocked offline right before the worst. This meteorologist is very aware. Lol. Overnight shift about to start. Been up since 3am already. Pullets are inside. They still might get wet as the awning is gone from the massive uper windows.I hope your pullets are ok! Lock them up tight tonight! Winds and heavy rain coming!
