What did you do in the garden today?

Oddly enough, the Best Choice brand is the only one that works. At least here. I know it's just cornstarch and scent, but whatever it is.....it works.
Thank you all for the information. I will definitely be buying some tomorrow and maybe just the baby powder for today. I think the baby powder I will use it in my hair and on my arms because I think flies are just out to harass me to death. It's really annoying.

Question about pdz... Is it considered organic? I use masonry sand in my poop boards and coop floor. I usually don't have any problems with smell... When I clean, that chicken poop goes to my compost pile to cure. The sand actually helps loam up our heavy clay soils.

Does anyone put pdz in their compost? Are you worried about the chickens eating it?
it's just clay, no chemicals or additives. The hens have no interest in it. I chuck it in the compost, and have been for 13 years. Then that gets spread all over the fields when I throw it. No problems.

Planted a couple loofah next to the chicken run so they can climb the new fence and shade trellis.

Harvested some bok choy for my tofu/saimin breakfast. So ono.

Spread more mulch. Prayed for rain. Put out sprinklers the last 2 days.

Going to raid my son's mango trees for the last of the seasons mangoes, and harvest the last of our starfruit. Then, cut up, puree and freeze.

Sprinklers are almost as useful to encourage rain as washing your vehicle. 🚙🚗🧽

We had a scant chance of rain last week after weeks and weeks of hot and dry. I spent all night waking up every 2 hours to move the hose from fruit tree to fruit tree. That should've held them until it rained in a couple of days. Wouldn't you know it, half an hour after turning off the water around sunup the skies opened up and poured buckets all morning. Followed by another downpour in the evening. 🌧️

For an even better chance of getting your prayers answered, hang out fresh laundry. 🧺👕👖🩳

Yes! I should wash my truck to encourage the rain. It does have a 90% success rate 😅👍
