What did you do in the garden today?

people here squeeze lemons to lower blood pressure. plain lemon juice and it works within minutes.
I have a lemon tree growing in a container, but I have to use a lot more sugar to make the lemon aide palatable, so I hardly make it. However, I do use it to season my soups and in cooking recipes that call for lemon.

I can't handle the sourness straight up.

I am making an all-out attempt to lower my blood pressure naturally with the addition of natural supplements and flax seed snacks to my diet.
Too much salt in the diet is hard on the arteries. Potassium helps keep them elastic. So I've read, anyway. I use NoSalt (brand) seasoning on my food sometimes. It's potassium chloride. I also eat a banana nearly every day. I rarely ever salt my food.

I postponed the watering yesterday and will take care of that this morning. The apples on my little tree are ripening early. Likely turn them all into unsweetened applesauce. The peaches are ripe yet but are getting there. I’ve been feeling a little un-well lately. I started using my Flonase again and that took care of it. I’m feeling way better now. I managed to get some weed whacking done yesterday afternoon. Everything is so bone dry here. My grass in the front yard hasn’t really grown in over a month but weeds are finding a way to take over. We may get a few drops of rain next Monday. Wah! I’m just going to have to mow the dry stuff and hopefully not react to the dust and dry weed bits too badly.

Not much going on today in the garden, everything is pretty much done with the exceptions of the sweet potatoes, fall peas (which have yet to sprout), and tomatoes. BUT, as of this morning we have two new peeps for a total of three new grand chickens. One hatched out yesterday, another was out and the third actively breaking through its shell as of these am.:wee:wee:ya Feel really blessed because not only are we getting more chickens(with little effort on our part) but we also have yet to have a broody get violent with us. At the start they would growl but they’ve never tried to bite or nip us and as time went on they were fairly calm when we went to check on and rummage under them.

I tried the salt free diet once way back in time and it never really did anything for my blood pressure. Always been my understanding that the sodium/blood pressure connection was an individual issue and not an absolute for everyone. But not being a doctor my two cents is worth about…..well, two cents:D

SVB are done for this season. Lost 2 plants to them in spite of looking for them. A shower this morning but not enough to water the plants. Have a sonogram on my carotid arteries today. GP wanted me to have this done due to the TIA last month. I suspect they are fine but best to check.
Best wishes and prayer for you.
