What did you do in the garden today?

Can I NOT catch a break this summer?
Wind ripped the run roof off 3 weeks ago and I put up a shade cloth.
With our days of impending rain this weekend I put up a tarp to help keep it more dry in there.
It has 2x4 joists.
But the system @Justagalwithchicks mentioned stalled on my little corner of the county last night. We're at 5.5 inches and it's still raining. OC the tarp and 2x4s couldn't hold 480 gallons of water. the 2x4s snapped drenching the furious pullets and flooding the run, out the windows on the lower side. High water mark at 6 inches with the WOOSH. It took us 3 hours in the pre-dawn to get it all cleaned up and the shade cloth back up.
We have gone from extreme long term drought to way too much water in a matter of weeks.
The creeks are out of their banks.

We are dry as a none out here.
This is headed to our rain season soon.

I hope you all get through the crazy weather mother nature is giving you. I wish we could just get a little bit of rain but the thunderstorms that rolled through didn't give us any rain but the next morning it was giving my mom rain . We had a lightning strike fire a bit closer than I would prefer but it didn't get a chance to get any closer.

I would gladly take some of that rain from you if I could. I’m so excited to see squash blossoms in my garden. I have a slicer tomato ripening on the vine. The first one this season. The one I picked when it started blushing is nearly completely ripe inside. I need to buy some lettuce so I can have a BLT sandwich. The real surprise I discovered in my garden this morning was lots of blossoms and green beans appearing on the vines. I’m guessing the cooler temperatures ate tricking the plants into thinking Spring has returned.

I think I have a couple of very very small female loofah buds growing. All I want is a single loofah

I transplanted broccoli and planted snap peas, radishes, a bit of spinach and a singular chard seed

I was going to start cleaning up the tomato garden. Well.... The deer got in and ate all my green tomatoes for my salsa. And all the leaves off the butternut squash. The squash is ok. I picked them, ready or not, and brought them up to the house. The deer also ate everything on the grapevines that they could reach.

I pulled up all the tomato plants. I did find a few (5) green tomatoes, and some ripe ones. That's it for the year. Thank goodness I got my canning done. Hubby has enough to make salsa, I'll get a bit of green salsa, and I'll one finger wave at any deer I see.

I got 1 processed. One of them decided to hide before I could get to him so I am only going to process 2.

I laughed because of the one finger wave to the deer. My husband even thought it was funny.
