What did you do in the garden today?

@Nym, those look like goatheads. That's what they're called here. I'm not sure if those are the same thing but that's what they look like.
I think the gaotheads is worse; it can puncture bike tyres 😱

Bindii weed, also known as Soliva sessilis, is a low-growing annual plant that produces prickly seed pods, making it difficult to walk on infested lawns. It is commonly found in Australia and New Zealand and can be managed through manual removal or the application of selective herbicides.

Goathead weed, also known as Tribulus terrestris or puncturevine, is an invasive plant characterized by its sharp, spiny fruit that can puncture tires and injure feet. It thrives in dry conditions and is considered a noxious weed in many areas due to its aggressive growth and ability to outcompete native plants.

I did a little fertilizing and hand watering this morning. The yellow squash did get a little bigger so that’s a hopeful sign. Seasonally warm temperatures for the next 10 to 12 days but little rain in the forecast. We really need rain. I started mowing the backyard yesterday. I’ll finish that later today.

Slicing tomatoes have been harvested in full and will be cut down. Cherry tomatoes are still going, though they're slowing down with the cooler temps.

We really need rain.
Agreed. We're in moderate drought up here. Again. 😓

When I checked the extended forecast last Saturday it showed a 70% chance of rain today between 5-7am. I woke up to a very dry but overcast morning. 😡 My garden is getting watered today via overhead sprinklers. Quackers and McDiver are loving it 💦🦆☺️ but much like the plants, they would prefer if the angels were bowling. 🪽🎳

Yeah I was supposed to get some rain last night too and all that materialized was dew. 😒

I picked 9 pounds of tomatoes this morning, mostly big Roma types, plus some smaller ones from indeterminate vines that I'll either eat or freeze whole for use this winter.

None of the tomatoes I picked today were fully ripe. Combined with what I picked last week I have nearly 12 pounds, enough for a couple batches of salsa.

Most were in a blush stage and will ripen indoors. I found a few rattlesnake beans too.
