What did you do in the garden today?

Yesterday afternoon my cold kicked my butt. Better today. Grandson got some rabbits free today. Lady was downsizing before winter. Adjusted water temp on one of the showers. Went fishing caught some but not biting much.
What kind of rabbits? Meat or pets?
Glad you felt good enough to go fishing

I have some radishes ready to harvest when I get home. I am probably going to pickle them and then plant another succession.
I might like that. I grow radishes mainly for the chickens, along with tons of other greens. This year I grew purple radishes and they are spicier than others I grew, great in potato salad. Bet they'd be wonderful pickled, thanks for the idea!

The garden had holes dug around in it the other day. Put camera out there and sure enough we had raccoons. I feel bad for them because our town is insanely expanding. All the fields are being dug up, the tree lines knocked down, the run off creeks filled in. They were eating earthworms and grubs and have since moved on. Didn't go by my chickens coop at all. We don't keep any food out overnight and have no spill feeders. When we built our run and coop we made it predator proof from this sites info. Thank goodness! But, good reminder to remember we have predators looking for their next meal!

Poor girl! We have several molting too! I always feel sorry for them! I like to give them a little extra protein. I think it speeds up feather growth. Usually meal worms. 🙂
Yeah, I have them on pasture that's 28% protein. Plus their feed is 18% right now. I haven't gotten an egg in two weeks. 10 chickens, no eggs. 🤣

At least I get funny pictures.

My one bird Prudy was the complete opposite of photogenic until yesterday when she was feeling slightly more like herself and didn’t sprint away from me. Her new feathers that are coming in so pretty must be making her happy

This photo is a good reminder of why chickens are such great pets. McWeirdo. 🤣

I honestly am not a huge fan of radishes in general but I love them pickled. They usually stay nice and crunchy too.

I got rid of some of the extra garlic cloves left over after planting yesterday. I made my first shakshuka this morning for breakfast, spicy with jalapenos and a yellow habanero.
