What did you do in the garden today?

I'm like 30+ pages behind. Not going back unless someone asked me a question...

Went out to the garden for the first time in 5 weeks since I broke my ribs. Did some very light weeding. Planted some garlic. I let a few bulbs go to seed this year. Looks like a few seeds sprouted!

Decided to brush mow the side pasture because it was quite unruly. Found a hidden duck nest out there with 10 eggs in it. Smashed eggs now because of the mower.

I need to dig up my canna lilies and move them. They are well over 7 ft tall! I grew them from seeds gathered at my previous house. They only grew to 4 ft tall at that place. I can't believe they are so giant here... Completely unruly so they need to be moved somewhere they will have more room. The butterflies and hummingbirds love them though!

I had to get a new TV a week ago. I had a 30 year old square CRT on a converter box/antenna. Still setting it up with the Internet.

Quick round of housework
make the beds, wipe down the bathrooms, laundry, kitchen pick up.
Then out to the barns to feed livestock, top stock tanks, load feed, throw hay, medical checks on those that need it.
Take care of any machine work/fix it crap that crept up.
Seasonal stuff is prepping for field stuff.

second breakfast
clean up, phone calls/errands
field work is seasonal spraying, fixing, fertilizing, planting, hauling, harvesting, livestock moving, vet runs
town runs for supplies.
Depends on the day and the season and the weather, but they're always full.

Sat outside with the ducks and picked red apples from my Topaz tree. 10! (young tree)

I bought a pumpkin/squash. Nice round and large. It reminds me of the golden delicious that I grew only larger and round. It is in the oven now. The rind was so tough I used a saw to cut it in half. Taste test later.
