Must you come in physical contact with them or is it some sort of chemical they give off when they're present in volume or ????My eyes swell almost shut: my face, arms and hands get itchy and red and swollen.
BINGO. I'm ok with the native ones, but not the orange ones. I got sprayed in the face swatting at one crawling on my cheek, thinking it was a fly out in the barn. I smelled ladybug and ARGH! sigh of relief when I saw it fall and was a bright RED one. Phew. But STINKYMy eyes swell almost shut: my face, arms and hands get itchy and red and swollen.
TSC sells a small amount of beekeeping equipment, including a jacket that would foil mosquitos. But... it is warm. It's a medium weight canvas with elastic around the waist and cuffs.Beekeepers outfit? Man, these things bite right through my clothes
My new summer outfit, lol! I'll dress up real pretty in one of those outfits and flip off all those mosquitoes ha haTSC sells a small amount of beekeeping equipment, including a jacket that would foil mosquitos. But... it is warm. It's a medium weight canvas with elastic around the waist and cuffs.

Do antihistamines help?
I'm sorry you're going through this population boom. I hope you, @WthrLady and anyone else affected by them stay safe and protected. The insect itself or the dust from them when they die.
Many years ago I had a swarm of 15-20 land on me, and I'm not a person that scares easily but I learned real quick that wearing light colored clothes attracts the little jerks.
Tonight, when my husband got home from work he ran out and sprayed bug poison, and vinegar soap water all over the outside of the house. Still, I've killed 6 of them inside today. I also sprayed some peppermint oil I just got today around the window sills, doors, and air conditioner. I know it's overkill but I really really hate them.
My husband mixed a batch of vinegar soap water for me so I can kill some tomorrow and every day as needed.
