finally got around to that gallon bag of huckleberries I put in the freezer. Cooked them down and mixed them up to a barbecue sauce. Put up four pints and it came out amazingly good. Definitely those huckleberries have earned a permanent place in the garden. Like experimenting around with new things when I have time. So far I've made an apple huckleberry fruit crisp, A huckleberry plum sauce to go on a roast pork, and the huckleberry barbecue sauce. Now I'm wondering what else I can make with it. The berries themselves are relatively tasteless, so whatever you put with them is the flavor they're going to take on. Guess that means the possibilities are endless.

I don't know why, but peppers don't do well in my environment. I am hoping to find one that does well in my yard. I am trying poblano peppers next.

So far, I have one sign done. I have a cold.... I have to assemble 14 more signs before Friday. I will probably need to take DayQuil and just suck it up. I'm feeling the pressure.

But they will look really good. So there's that.

Watered the carrots and peas. Nothing sprouting yet. Except volunteer tomatillos, pole beans, and random pumpkin seeds.

I took a nap today. I only nap when I'm sick or ate too much.

2 rainy days but not much rain. just mud. no gardening.
