What did you do in the garden today?

Personally my favorite storage temp is freezer.
Step #1(since the garden was a flop this year) - watch for them to go on sale
#2 - buy as many as reasonable, then put a couple more tasty looking ones in your cart just for good measure
#3 - split in half, de-seed, oil, season, roast
#4 - when cool, remove the skin, mash, adjust seasonings, freeze in portion size containers
#5 - when frozen, transfer to vacuum-seal bags to return to freezer taking up less space.

#Bonus Tip - be sure to label the freezer bags so you don't mix them up with the pumpkin bits for the chickens and dogs processed from discount oversize pumpkins after Halloween.
#second bonus tip - get you a Hubbard if available since Butternut is only the second best tasting marrow out there.

Frost here. Anywhere from 29 to 33 depending on which weather app you chose. I have 31. I need to mow leaves with mower on mulch. Not all leaves are down yet. I may start the fire pit and hull walnuts in the sun near the fire. Trying to adjust to the cool weather.
That sounds relaxing!

Got the left side of the garden cleaned up and tilled with our small little tiller. Compost emptied in garden today thanks to my daughter! Prepped the soon to be garlic bed. Right side still has tomatoes and jalapenos that are rocking it since the frost. No, they are not as great a summer ones, but they will do! What a late, late fall we are having.
