What did you do in the garden today?

Well Hank Williams recorded jambalaya - which I've already mentioned - before I was born, for instance, but I've been known to enjoy earlier music as well. And I do get warm fuzzies when I hear a slide guitar or a fiddle playing.

:oldWhat I don't care for is much of what they try to pass off as country in the last couple of decades. Few and far between are worth listening to. YMMV
I agree. Steel guitar gets to me, in a good way. And most anything from the Possum, George Jones. New stuff is way too commercial.

I watered today. You guys talking about good country "old" music, made me get out the acoustic and practice "family tradition" by Hank Jr.

Carrots are really starting to come up now. Not enough to take a photo of, you wouldn't be able to tell anything yet, but I can see em. 😂. Once you can actually see rows, I'll take a photo.

Realized that my garden sprinkler timer turned off for the season. Things were getting really wilty. Usually we are cool enough and getting a bit of rain this time of the season. So I don't have to water and my automated Rachio is set as such. I will manually run the cycle as needed now that I realize what happened.

This weekend the rest of the garlic will go in. I'm very excited.

Today will be taken up with hubby's dental appointment. When we get back, I'll see what I feel like doing outside.

Anyone else dreading the Fall Back time change? It'll be getting dark at 5:30. I really wish we would pick one, either Daylight Saving or Standard, and stop changing the clocks twice a year.

Wow, I am 600 pages behind 🫣 had a wedding in July, and now the Family came back from the reception in India 😅 I have cleared my raised bed, my 🌶️ and bell peppers did not survive the first night below , have to dig our my dahlias, the leaves didn’t like zero either 🙄 but… I had an unusual case of intestinal flu, which started with the worst case of dizzy spells I ever had ( had to hold onto something so I didn’t fall 😬) but finally am back to 90% normal, of course avian flu has hit Germany very bad, over 1000 cranes have succumbed to it, many commercial breeders have to cull over 200000 of chickens, I am sorry to say many free range geese and ducks were also culled, I fear worse is yet to come 🫤 and I need to enlarge my run cos since yesterday, I live in a restricted zone so all my chickens need to stay under a covered run and sides need to be fenced so tight no wild bird can enter their run..I ordered a transparent cover, it was so thin I could have ripped it without effort, ordered another one, it arrived yesterday, today it is raining and windy, I don’t think I will manage to get the run covered today 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's just awful the Avian flu is so bad there.

My vote is for standard time as nature made it. My Senator, OTOH, likes DST. 🤦‍♂️

I vote for Standard Time year 'round and not having to go outside at 10PM in the summer to put the chickens to bed. 9PM would be a little more reasonable.
