What did you do in the garden today?

In the 1974? they tried not changing. Must not have been popular because they went back.
I remember when daylight savings time first started. Not all states did it at first. Here is an idea move the time one half hour and leave it there. I call that compromise.

I culled my most aggressive bulky red ISA Brown rooster and kept the tallest Rhode Island Red looking one and one that look like an ISA Brown rooster. However, the tall rooster's hormone kicked in, and he started beating up on his white/brown younger brother. Furthermore, he started chasing my Red Star chicks like he was trying to kill them, so I locked him up. His younger brother chases the chicks, but not as aggressively, he is kind of passive and not proactively seeking them out like his older brother.

Anyway, the eggs these Isa Brown roosters hatched from were the biggest and brownest eggs I have seen, and they were all the same size. They were bigger than the extra-large eggs sold in my local supermarket. I will try crossing them with my Red Star chicks to see if I can breed my own line of egg layers.

I kinda am. I get tired of dragging a cord everywhere, especially when I cut the clover.... The cord gets really gross and I have to get it all the way around the pool. Plus I swear, every time I mow out there a chicken poops on the cord and I get a nasty surprise when I roll it up. Honestly, I want a gas mower again but nobody is getting rid of them since California banned selling new ones. 🙄
They sell cordless lawn mowers at Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot...........

We have the Ryobi riding mower (electric), rechargeable. piece of shit, been in the shop more than its mowed the lawn. Finally replaced all 4 of the batteries it came with to lithium batteries and working great now, and holding a charge finally. Was really disappointed cuz we have Ryobi everything and they've always been great. Maybe cuz we bought it when they first came out and they hadn't worked the kinks out yet?

Other than the garlic this is all I have going on in the garden now. Cabbage, watercress, bok choi, kale and collards. Along with the onions, garlic, butternut squash, tomatoes, beans and carrots I have stored away it should keep me in veggies until next year's garden starts producing.
