What did you do in the garden today?

It's a mass production bbw. They sell them cheap this time of year to get us in the store. Called a "loss leader " they are losing money from this bird because our "Thanksgiving" holiday is the end of the month. Turkey is a traditional food served. They hope we will buy the rest of the food there also.
Exactly! They take a loss on one or a few items to lead customers into their store and will make up the cost of the product in other sales.
My favorite local grocery is giving away a free Butterball or Honeysuckle turkey to anyone spending $125 (excluding alcohol, tobacco, and paper products) between the 19th and the 26th. For those not spending that much, the first whole turkey is 79¢/lb and the rest are $1.09.

Being that they are within a few blocks of an Aldi, a Super Walmart, and a Super Target, it's an extremely smart strategy. With careful meal planning and strategizing, $125 should be an easy target. If not, I'll just throw a bag of cat food in the cart for $30. It'll keep.

Sometimes there is also the requirement that you have to buy a certain dollar amount of groceries to get the cheap price. Sometimes it's $50, sometimes $100. Not hard to do anymore!
Yes . By me the "Jewel" , which is now owned by Albertsons, usually has a minimum purchase and slightly higher price.

No snow last night and flurries off and on today. A high of 34 and 22 overnight. Feels like November.
You got lucky... It snowed at my in-laws (northern Indiana).

We are expecting low 20s tonight. It's already FREEZING outside. I need to go hook up water trough heaters and I don't want to go outside... 🙄

I will cull all the roosters when they start to crow and cull the hens after two years. There is a two-chicken limit in my residential area and a fine if neighbors complain. I have to monitor the sound of my roosters, and I can only keep one. A lot of people raise chickens where I live, so it's okay as long as no one complains.
Yet I bet those barking dogs are A-OK.
