What did you do in the garden today?

My mom asked me if I had ever seen or heard of a pregnant onion and I said no. I told her that I saw a really cool looking plant in her yard and it looked like it had really cool looking flowers on it and she said yes baby that's the pregnant onion. I asked if I could get one from her and she dug it out for me. It's a really beautiful looking plant I am so excited to see the flowers it produces. I have it in the house right now but I will get it planted eventually. I'm working on making a flower bed and I want to have so many flowers growing it's going to be amazing and beautiful. If anyone wants 1 I will see if I can get a bulb from it.

I didn't know the name but they grow wild here.

I think the Burpee brand Marconi isn't the 12-inch giant ones I see on YouTube. I get 4-inch ones from my Burpee seeds, so I am trying another company with a picture of bigger peppers as seen below.

they need cooler temperature and probably different soil to grow that big. I got some seeds from my mother (zone 7b, acidic soil) and peppers are much smaller (zone 9a, alkaline soil).

This time around with my Poblano pepper plants, I mixed 3tbs of Garden Tone organic fertilizer, 3tbs of super sweet granular lime and 1tbs of granular iron to one gallon of a 50/50 peat and perlite mix. I put this mix in a 5 gallon grow bag and my Poblano peppers are growing taller in this mix. In addition, I just gave them a top dose of Southern Ag Sulfate of Potash 0-0-50. The label says it strengthens plant making it less susceptible to disease and adverse conditions. I think I may be on to something.

My chicks got a new home. I taped two $4 moving boxes from Homedepot together, covered it with part of a rabbit cage. Suckers have room to run now!

No gardening done other than growing out some fertilizer factories...
