I have garlic and first time planting shallots last fall. The walking onions I had were little so I gave up on them.

The kid is not fond of onion he eat them in salsa but will eat the walking ones.

I went out to check for the duck eggs and started attempting to clean up the garden a bit but I need to talk to my youngest daughter and see if she can get her friend to bring the tiller over so that I can get it done the way I want it.

Today was the first time I let my younger chicken's sleep
together with my older Red Star hens. I locked the younger chicken's pen up to see if they would sleep in the Red Star's bigger coop and they did. I left the door open, so they can forage when they wake up.

I let my chickens forage in the garden, which turned up all of the soil in my raised beds, so hopefully they'll be ready to plant stuff in eventually!

planted garlic that sprouted in my fridge and transplanted the last broccoli and lettuce for this season.

I checked my garlic patch and the last three cloves finally sprouted after being in the ground for three months, so all 90 of the cloves I planted are growing now. I need to plant onion seeds this weekend.

the worms come with the deer, not the alpacas
I have NEVER even seen deer poo in the pastures, but the snails can travel on the own INTO the pasture, and can wash down from areas up hill where deer can get to. The worms and eggs are in the snails and the snails are accidentally eaten by the alpacas.

How are they doing?
