What did you do in the garden today?

Took three young roosters to auction the other day because we had too many (4 boys out of 10) and the flock stress level was high. I don’t like auctioning them off but you have to do what needs to be done and culling is not an option for me. Anyway, just received a check today and each of the boy BO’s sold for $19.00 each which makes me feel much much better. I tell myself that someone paying that much for a chicken is not looking for a dinner main course, naive perhaps but it helps me to not get so depressed at giving them up.

You're lucky to have a place to auction your chickens. I have to slaughter my excess roosters. I hate doing it because, I could get an already roasted one from Costco.

I just couldn’t butcher one of our chickens so having this livestock auction nearby is definitely a blessing. I don’t think we’ll let our hens hatch out anymore nor do I think we’ll buy chicks again. We’ve pretty much decided to buy pullets in the future regardless of cost. Giving our chickens, our roosters, up for auction is hard for me even knowing their presence puts stress on the flock. Rock and a hard place for me.

my problem too. I have a small flock of 5 roos I hatched last year. I even cannot choose which one to sell, lol. a friend of mine wants a roo for his lady flock so I must choose one. he'll go to a good home.

Nope, they're going somewhere to SnuSnu their little rooster brains out :D

I had to buy a new tv for my computer. I got a 43 inch one from Costco, it took me awhile to figure it out. My new TV comes pre-programed with amazon Alexia, Prime and Fire Tv. I had to get to setting and I clicked on input to find my computer. I only need my computer; I don't need Netflix and the other stuff on the tv setting.
