What did you do in the garden today?

I hear ya.
I'm tired of the cold and damp though. Blessed we didn't have MORE cold and snow.
60 tomorrow and 70 Monday, then back to the 50s for a bit.
I need to transplant the oak tree seedlings that are in the house. They've stopped growing, which I think means they've bottomed out in their pots.
Enjoy that sunshine, even if its only for a few days.

I can't keep up right now. Someone called the county about us fixing the road on our property. We didn't even move 30 yards of dirt .... Just fixing the erosion the previous contractor caused, but hired a pro this time, so it didn't take me months to do myself. The county inspector was pretty nice but I hate that someone wasted his time.

I get it, people don't know any better. We also scraped some stuff so we could reseed with easy grasses. All for fire protection. 🙄 Eventually the county will call back so we can clear things up. It's just frustrating because we did everything by the books, didn't need a permit, so we didn't call. They seem to think we should call every time we do anything so, probably will. Just as a cya. But what a waste of time and honestly feels like an invasion of our privacy.

Anyway.
Started my onions, finally. Not sure if those will bulb up this year since I started so late.

Also started all my peppers and eggplant. Started more flowers as well. Feels good to have seed trays in the little greenhouse. Heat mat is under the pepper tray.

Trees are pruned, sprayed and bud swell is starting. One tree is blooming. Supposed to get a good rain storm next weekend. Hopefully my apricot doesn't bloom too close to that storm or I won't get many fruit this year.

I think I overcrowded my stem lettuce (Celtuce). I cut some bottom leaves off and used it in my sandwich to give more light to some smaller plants. Copilot says the stems will get fatter if I leave the bottom leaves on, but I will still use them moderately. All I need is 4 leaves to make a decent sandwich.

My loan pepper plant is taking a long time to get taller and my poblano pepper seeds in the Petrie dish hasn't sprouted yet.

I will never understand why people want to meddle in other peoples business, let alone call the officials on anyone! Makes me so glad I live out in the country with no neighbors in sight. Should be able to do whatever you want on your property.

Yes. None available today. None close by yet. My favorite cross in the past was Flemish x Champaine. Still looking.
Down here....Tamuk is the breed to own. Good heat resistance.

Babies came out for the first time yesterday. They are 2 1/2 weeks old now. I'm surprised by how big they are... 5 kits in total: 2 look like dad, one like mom, and 2 albinos. That's mom in the picture below.
