I haven't seen her in a whileI was actually just thinking about @igorsMistress. Has she been on lately? I really enjoyed seeing her flock and was just wondering if anyone has seen her here.

I agree. When the garlic I planted last fall started sending shoots above ground something kept nipping them off and eating them, and I suspect it was voles. Now that the garlic is a lot taller they leave it alone.I'd heard garlic helped repel voles in the garden, so planted it last fall all around the perimeters of every bed. I can definitely report back that it doesn't work!
I tried planting garlic in the hole with tomatoes and potatoes along with the perimeter..... the moles and voles larfed .I'd heard garlic helped repel voles in the garden, so planted it last fall all around the perimeters of every bed. I can definitely report back that it doesn't work! I'm working on eradicating the voles now, before I plant my cool weather plants in a couple weeks. Volex seems to be working well, looks like I'm down to maybe one or two left. Must be applied when its dry, and all this rain we've been getting isn't helping.
Yeah, its castor oil. I've got the mole max repellant going also. Volex in the active vole holes. 2 Solar repellers , the kind that vibrate and make annoying beeps in each bed. Traps. And the garlic, of course. Multi prong attack on those buggars, cuz I think I have the most stubborn voles in the world. They just don't want to leave.I tried planting garlic in the hole with tomatoes and potatoes along with the perimeter..... the moles and voles larfed .
I put some granular stuff out and that seems to help. I think the Active Ingredient was Castor Oil
