What did you do with your flock today?

That's why I'm not allowed any more chicks. I can't bear to part with them. If accidental Stan was a boy I was supposed to sell him or give him away. Nope, one look at this and I was smitten:

So precious! 😍😍 The boys get you, it’s like they have special vibes that we just can’t deny.

Hehehe I’m working my magic—puffy cheek beeebies!! 😆 It worked on @TropicalBabies hehehee :p And they hatched and are precious!! 😁😁😁

But seriously, there’s something about the cheeks when they look at you…it just gets me every time! 😍

There’s also something about the bantam EE that’s a combo of the Ameraucana personality and the d’Anver. I think it makes them more friendly than either breed alone. Ameraucanas are such gentle birds but can be rather flighty and shy if not handled enough, and d’Anvers can be sassy and evasive but are sweet when handled a bunch. Seems like the mix makes them gentle and friendly but with a healthy dose of curiosity and busy. I’m a fan 😍
O you are a chicken temptress 🤣🤣🤣
That poofy face really is just to die for!

I got a new coop today now let the serious work begin. I have to dig up the ground and line it with fencing to keep the snakes out 😞. Then I have to build the run out and make sure they have lots of room for more girls. 😳, did I really just go there. Oh well all I have to do is say "oops." Now that makes it okay
So many things you have to protect chickens from! I'm so happy I haven't had to worry about snakes too! I would never get my children to help if they found a snake in the coop! It's bad enough when they see the rats! New coop mean more chickens?? Or just addressing the already too many chickens? :D

I think I must have stressed out my chickens by changing their roosting branch yesterday. I shortened it and changed its position. They were all having a hard time finding a suitable position on it last night. And because of the stress, I think, there were 3 or 4 soft eggs under the roost this morning. And one in a nest box, which has never happened.

I gave them something new to sleep on tonight. Hope they like it. A smooth 2x4, 8 foot long, wide side up.
