It's a chilly morning today and I think they are glad to have feathers for a winter jacket on. I gave them some scratch just before they went on the roost yesterday. By now they are thanking me.

Love your coop! Loved the little hen trying to reach you tooAfter I got home from work I mowed fallen leaves, throwing them in the hoop coop much to the delight of the flock.
Oh, and I made a hoop coop video tour:
Hard on them when the weather flips suddenly. It's not winter here yet but we've had a really cold wind blowing all day for a couple of days now. I put up some sheets of plywood in the runs yesterday to help them out and I'll put a few more up today. My coops are small and my birds spend more time in the runs no matter how cold we get. Not that we get very coldMine are impatiently awaiting there boiled egg treat this morning. It was summer yesterday and winter this morning. I don't have a feathered coat. Winter wear is stashed out of the way somewhere. Everyone has feed an water til afternoon so I'll be deprived of there companionship for a couple more hours at least. Summer yesterday with freeze warnings out for tonight may confuse the girls but I hope not. They have just started to lay well again. The newest coop of layers of 15 pullets laid 12 eggs yesterday.
That was the only choice of orange pumpkins yesterday and I passed on them. I didn't think they would work well. If I get back into town I'll get them a couple.I decided to try the pumpkin challenge with some sugar pie pumpkins
Leggy is ready to defend the flock from the scary orange blob!!
The wind is howling here. I got to find a winter coat to wear over something with a hood. My ears are delicate.Hard on them when the weather flips suddenly. I love it! I took a long video but was too lazy to figure out how to share it. I think chicken pumpkin carving is about my favorite new thing. Definitely going to be an annual traditionI decided to try the pumpkin challenge with some sugar pie pumpkins
