I'd keep trying myself. She could have some swelling that needs to subside... who knows.
Improvement, no matter how little, is awesome. Such a pretty little girl ♡

I wonder. If there's swelling, would ibuprofen or aspirin be helpful to reduce the inflammation? I don't even know if it can be given to chickens. Plus, it's a blood thinner, so if there are any internal bleeds it might cause more of a problem. Just thinking out loud.

@PopoMyers , I'm really sorry about your chicken. I hope she has a complete recovery.

This afternoon, instead of the eyedropper, I used a medicine cup, like the ones from cough syrup. She drank about 45 ml. She also ate 2 small bits of scrambled egg that I put in her beak. After an hour plus, tried again, and she drank another 15 ml. I'll have one more go before bed. I think she got sleepy from the vodka.

I think your doing great ♡. I was told that an average chicken needs to eat a minimum of 30mils per day to stay alive. That is why I syringe feed ♡ but if she is eating on her own, your doing well ♡♡♡

I heard from Ironwood sanctuary this morning and they finally have space for Mojo! I'm so happy for him . Of course, impatient me turned him loose in Spuds huge area just a few days ago. On the bright side, he trusts me enough that I think it'll be easy to crate him anyway. I'm so happy and relieved he's got a safe place to go. Hubby was starting to talk bacon...not that he'd ever go through with it.

Now just have to figure out the details of getting him there. But not today...hubby has plans for us today and tomorrow so it's family time for a bit.

I hear the roosters calling me about ordering their breakfast. They need to take a hard look at their plates. What they see is what they get. If they don't like crumbles then they can hunt bugs. Later in the morning scrambled eggs will be served for brunch and not before.
