What did you do with your flock today?

I have offered the bodies to my birds even alive but caught in a trap none will touch them. Been out picking berries had to stop for a pain pill but needed to feed my face had not eaten yet
What was for brunch?!
My latest favorite food is spinach salad with a poached egg or two depending on how hard I had worked that morning.

I am surprised no one has gone broody yet (except my little Buff down the mountain)

Yesterday I started Iris back on the antibiotics. I also soaked his feet in Epsom salt for 20 minutes, cleaned some of the dirt from under his scales with a soft toothbrush, and then coated his legs in Vaseline. His scales are pretty bad and I don't know if it's from scaly leg mites or the swelling, so I'm treating him for both, just in case.

@room got the faverolles run expanded. I tried to help paint, but I just made it worse so I was pretty hands-off after that. From now on I think I'll be sticking to canvases. XD
The SFs are loving it. They weren't happy at first when they got kicked out of their house, but now with the extra space and the new dirt, they've been bathing almost non-stop.

This morning when I went out there, everyone was fussing and I saw either a small hawk or a large falcon fly out of one of the trees and land on the fence. When Yen saw it, she puffed up and ran at it. I haven't decided if she's the bravest chicken I've had, or the stupidest. I'm leaning towards the second one.
Everyone is fine (I was right there to chase it off before it got anyone), but that was super surprising. I've never seen or heard a chicken doing that before, and honestly I hope it doesn't happen again. It's weird, she's scared of the doves, but she charges at the one bird that can and will kill her.

You did not make it worse. I think more practice is in order. You can start by painting my bedroom, then the livingroom & your bedroom & then move on to the outside of the house. 😜
