May it pass quickly and your flock forgive you!! The good news is they are pretty young and can handle better than us old farts.

I am up the mountain so I don't know if anymore have hatched. My DH will be back down in a few with an update and hopefully photos. I will head down Wednesday if needed.

Forest has his appointment on Friday.

I wormed 13 of my chickens today. The other six are in runs, so I think they’ll be fine, but tomorrow morning I’ll check the coops for any worms when I clean them.
It took forever, but it could’ve been harder. They each got their dose in the catio, and since the meds were put in a little bit of scrambled eggs, I didn’t have to do much. They’re all very snack motivated, so I only had to grab 2-3 of them, and the rest ran in there themselves.

Elphie had some issues because she can’t eat eggs, so I put her dose in a little bit of oatmeal. Aside from that, I had no issues and only had to supervise them. It took about an hour, which is a lot quicker than if I had to shoot it down their throats.

After everyone was done with their meds, I found five of them in a clump. Iris never bathes, so I guess the meds are working. XD /j

Iris is officially off of the antibiotics. I don’t see a difference, but seeing as most of it is internal, I’m hoping it’s just taking a little bit to start working.

And last of all, some of my birds started molting a couple of weeks ago. Normally they start in the middle of July, so I don’t know why they’re so late this year.
Yen is looking so good! I didn’t realize just how stained her and Gary’s feathers were until the new ones started growing in. I can’t wait until they’re done growing in so I can take a picture. She looks almost purple now.

It is going to be 106F here today(Real temp not real feel) so I added an extra hour to the misting time.

We are not that bad here humidity is like 38% just now but 74 out sunny did clean my coops scraping tables looking for dead or dying rats

Yeah it was 104 here today! I’ve had misters going most of the afternoon…it’s almost 7 and still 98 out. Blech!! I feel the most bad for Ms. Frizzle (frizzle Cochin), cuz she’s got a lot of feathers!

I do not like heat waves like this when it does not cool down at night. Tomorrow is going to be just as hot.

Agreed! I’m over this summer, and just want temps under 100 in September. That’s seems like a reasonable ask! it’s just depressing!
