Thank you! I too love their colors

They look so calm…something about cool colors I’m drawn to
Well Elsafish decided that she was going to introduce herself today so fingers crossed she’s okay to have around the others

I brought her outside today because it was beautiful and I felt bad she hasn’t been outside since I got her, and placed her inside one of those soft sided dog crates that has no bottom and a screened top. Then I set about doing chicken and quail chores. We decided to extend the chicken run so we bought more fence and pavers and bird netting and we’re busy putting all that up and I turned around and she wasn’t in the crate!

I start looking all around the yard, and found her happily dust bathing in the chicken run with the silkies…ugh! She’s been dusted for mites and I’ve had her on some meds for the rattle in her breathing, and by the time I found her I figured it was too late to go back inside with her. She spent a good half hour dust bathing and then foraged to her hearts content. She could have cared less for the other chickens and I had the boys blocked off, and everyone seemed to be chill about her. She also squatted for me yesterday! So I’m thinking she is close to laying age, so that’s fun! She’s now in the little brooder coop outside and happily being a chicken. Sighhh isn’t that just how it goes? Despite your best intentions? Like one of my kids haha.
Also Miss Betty has been very committed to being broody so I have her some of the big ladies eggs to sit on…hoping puff or fluff succeeds in making her a mommy! Will candle them at Day 10 and see if there’s a chance. But I also think she’s been stealing eggs cuz her brood seems to get bigger every day! I even found Miss Fuzzy helping out today. No lie, silkies are serious broodies!
