What did you do with your flock today?

I have a fully hardware cloth covered mini coop and run inside of my fully chicken wire covered large coop & run. I use the mini set up for chick growing and quaranteen if needed. Right now i have baby chicks in it. I sit in the mini one with the baby chicks and watch them bonding with the big hens through the fence. I can stay out there all day. So peaceful and relaxing.

I’ve been planning on blocking the rafters of my coop. It’s really inconvenient to constantly clean the food buckets when the chickens poop in it, along with everything else. A friend recommended covering the rafters in chicken wire, which I think is a great idea. I’m a little embarrassed I didn’t think of it sooner.
It probably won’t get done right away since my parents have a few other non-chicken related projects they’re working on, and we’re probably going to do a full house down of the coop before we put the chicken wire up.

I also added more sand to the coop this morning.

How many feet of wire do you need?

These are the feeders we build no poop in them
