Today my dad and I started working on building the new aviary. We had a late start, so only wood got cut. I’m hoping to go out early to start painting it, but I’m not sure if that’ll happen yet. Either way, tomorrow is going to be full of painting, measuring, and more cutting. I’m hoping this thing will be done by Monday.
I got to spend lots of sun time with the birds. Both of the babies got turns sitting on my lap, but neither really cared. Cher didn’t want to be away from Sonny, and Sonny prefers to sit on my shoulder, where my hands can’t get her. XD
Sonny did end up living up to her name and sunbathed on me. <3 her tiny little neck feathers spiked up everywhere. It was adorable.
Iris also got lots of love. His foot still looks absolutely awful, but he’s been acting so much better. The past few days I haven’t been able to sit on a chair outside without him quite literally flying on my lap. Even if he wasn’t broken, he’s still wayyy too big to be doing that. For a bird his size, he’s really fast. Took me a few tries to get him off of my lap and out of the chair before he jumped on my again. He’s very persistent. XD
I ended up just taking him into the sun and he fell asleep for a long time. I love sitting with him, but man, he always looks and feels really dead whenever he sunbathes. XD
I got some pics of the pigeons + babies, but I’ll have to check what I already posted.
I was almost considering getting me another blue egg layer just to jazz up my bowls. But thanks for thinking so ♡♡

seems I made my eye mad at me refinishing the deck.
