What did you do with your flock today?

Update on the pigeons: we’ve got two eggs! :celebrate Bert and Egg have been dutifully taking turns sitting on the nest, with Egg taking most of the day shifts and Bert taking most, possibly all, of the night shifts. Today’s day two or three, depending on if you count the day Bert laid the second egg and they started sitting. I know it’s probably too soon to see if they’re alive, so I’ve been trying hard to wait the extra few days before I candle.

I have to apologize first of all for not remembering who is who. Regardless, your nest set up is so pretty! I'm so excited for you and will keep everything crossed that you get two sweet healthy chicks from this. The lovely light colored one (Egg?) Looks like s/he's smiling. So sweet.🥰

Thank you! Yup, the white/yellow one is Egg. When I brought him home my sister said he looked like a fried egg. :lau
You’re right, it does look like he’s smiling!

Just got home from the vet, and she does NOT believe Honey has ocular Mareks. She said she has been taking care of Backyard Chickens for 34 years and never seen it present the way she looks, so she believes she suffered from an eye infection of some sort when she was younger. She does agree with me that she is at least partially blind and as long as she can find her food and water and the chickens don't pick on her, she should do just fine. YAY!!! Happy Friday news!! :wee
Excellent news best ever
:wee

Thanks!! I agree! 😁😁😁 She got to join the “Can’t see well” club (Sia and Cher the silkies) today and I’m hoping it’s a good fit for her! I figure this club will grow as the Polish chicks mature too 😆 might need to rename a coop and have it be all the “can’t see” chickens! Silkies, Polish and partially blind seems appropriate 😍

Speaking of the Polish…I got a couple new pics today of the frizzled one and the d’Uccles 🥰
