Oh gosh @kurby. You would be the funniest neighbor to have. Do you have a spread sheet of breads yet?

Speaking of which, I notice I have a lot of neighbors with chickens now and even though I have only sold to a few I would like to think I was seni responsible with my pre pandemic feathered yard art. We made it look easy

Hahaha I know, I cannot imagine what the neighbors all think of me and “whatever it is we have back there” as one neighbor commented Chicken keeping is becoming all the rage and I’m sure they see yours and think, I want that lifestyle too! I have a habit of diving into something with hyperfocus and over doing it and correcting it eventually to a more reasonable pace! Sometimes I burn out though

To be fair, I have and will be selling a bunch of the babies, I’m finding it to be more fun than I expected. I have so many chickens now that letting a few go for $$$ is easier than it used to be. And seeing people enjoy them brings me happiness too I sold a bunch of my quail and hatching eggs to a high school kid who is having a great time raising them and hatching them and he got compliments on the quail from others on a quail site and their quality. Made my heart happy!

Yes, I read that you were selling too. Chicken keeping evolution lol obviously chickens are just so darn fascinating so can't help it. Who would have thunk?
I can totally relate to what you are doing and am actually living vicariously through you. Meeting interesting chicken people along the way what fun and inspiration.
We just can not get the breeds that you have fairly easy access to. I am amazed that you can go to a poultry show and pick up birds. We have nothing like that here. Getting eggs shipped will most likely have bad hatch rates if they will ship. So, keep the updates coming miss kurby. Good fun.

So, obviously quail are a gateway poultry lol.

Well, broken sunglasses have me inside looking at ebay hatching eggs. I feel like I am in a cheesecake factory. Some breeds I am interested in. I will check back later to see if anyone is will to ship to us.

I'm actually going to keep at least 3 as I think Cheepie is a boy so I want to keep a lookalike little girl chick to switch out when the time is right... and then there is the Cornish cross x Buff brahmas... thinking I may grow them out. Beetle is 100%. The sticktight fleas never came back thank goodness. I still like him a lot.

I spent a little over 8 hours working on the main coop today. I was a month late for its yearly cleaning, so that had to be done. I got everything out and scrubbed, and then I found some leftover paint from my pigeon aviary and repainted. My hands/wrist don’t really work anymore right now, but it’s worth it lol.

We lost Mo in the night... We have all been pretty quiet today.
Richard My better half fixed the one feeder rats chewed on and took bevel off each cradle side for tops to sit lower these are done to deter rats in them.
