Good morning Gang. Second cup almost human take a photo today haave baby size nipple waters .. I use the hard sided Fiber containers. So both brooders have no more tipped water.

Can't remember if I told you guys my hubby had to fly to Oahu. Well, anyways it has me doing more animal chores and less people chores. Good trade. Nice to subsist on Mac and cheese again too lol well that, a salad and 2 cups of morning Joe
My photos pretty much sum up my day- without the smells and mini disasters in between of course.

And our Pasture roo John Lewis is purple. Major purple. Photo did not quite capture. Had to share- what an absolute cool guy

I discovered the intense sport of chick tag. My 12 week barred hen lost a feather, which I twirled in front of my 2 and 4 week old chicks, who snagged it and created an absolute mad hen house. Chirps and running all over the coop between me and the wife and Ms Perchins while they played get the feather for 30 or so minutes.

My wife and I were thrilled. Ms Perchins just watched them run round while she made her quiet chicken noises.

I need more chicken toys.

Wow, John Lewis is gorgeous! I’ve never seen anyone that purple before. What is he, an EE?

Hi all! Been a busy few days at the County Fair! Aria survived poultry showmanship and I was sooo proud of her! Sia won second place in the feather legged pullet class and that made Aria super excited So all in all, it was super fun and worth the work!

There was a drawback to it though. Sally, one of my Polish pullets was apparently not eating and I didn’t see it because I’ve been too busy to pay close attention She died last night in my arms and I spent all night crying I feel so bad I didn’t notice in time. I’m thinking she was being scared away from the food? I had 6–3 girls and 3 boys and she and one boy seem to be growing slower and acting meek so I just thought she was a bit behind. So I now have the boy inside as well, trying to get him some extra nutrients and attention :-(

So I’m sad today, but happy for Aria. I also moved my bantam babies outside to a small brooder. They’re small enough to escape the fence so I gotta secure it better before they can be free, but they are in need of more space now!

Wow, John Lewis is gorgeous! I’ve never seen anyone that purple before. What is he, an EE?

His mom is Ameraucana and dad a Smoothie (silkie x Ameraucana) I need to try and get some more photos. He shimmers purple in certain light. Unfortunately he is not completely friendly as he is lower ranking and the bigs don't let him hang with me for too long. But def worth several tries as I have never seen anything like it either. He is a good boy.

I am really sorry for your loss. Such a pretty baby ♡♡♡. We can't catch all the illnesses or save them all but I know we all sure try Hope your boy is ok ♡♡♡
