Yesterday was hubbys bday. He's a pepper fiend so we made him chocolate cupcakes with...peppers!View attachment 3144337View attachment 3144347
Thankfully I only added the peppers to four of the cupcakes. And thankfully we had plenty of nice cool ice cream to go with them.

It's supposed to reach 110 today so I added extra cooling bowls to the baby birds run. Think I have enough for them to all keep cool!

Omg!!! I want to know how you did this! My husbands birthday is today, I already made his cake but I would love to do this! My husband loves hot peppers. We had a Carolina Reaper plant last year, can’t find them this year, but we have a ghost pepper plant this year

Well.. all is quite in the brooder with no movement. Last hatching of Serama eggs didn't go well so hoping this one does.

Oh the pins and needles part My last hatch was my latest starting hatch to date. Have no idea why.

My usual morning visit to the Ducks. Added a mush bowl with meal worms on top. I asked in a different thread if it was okay to make a bowl with chick feed and water in it for Ducks who need to have water with their food.

We went out on an adventure today. I didn’t have them in the future flower garden area, so I only had 4 out at a time. All 18 would have been a hot mess…

That was 7 years ago lost them at 5 years but blue eggs good size to extra large.

Just chop up the peppers and mix them into the batter! I've done it with jalapenos before and this time I used Thai peppers. Add twice as many as you think you need for the right heat though...the sugar kills the heat. You also want to chop tougher peppers extra fine so they soften enough for good texture. The Thai peppers taste better then the jalapenos with chocolate and need a finer dice... especially in cupcakes! But pepper and chocolate...yum! I dropped a square of trader Joe's 84% dark chocolate into the center of each cupcake too for a super rich flavor!
Ghost peppers! You guys do like hot!

@racyfamily lol mine too. It was actually a closet and they still talk about it- 20+ years later. Obviously big sister and instigator may never live that one down.

Yestereve I was able to fit in a bunch of past due coop cleaning. I found a broken egg in one of the nest boxes so needed to switch out some materials there too. Almost time to do my summertime coop scrubbing. Been so dry and dusty here everything looks yucky even with my TONS of mulch. Guess I'd be really sad without it! I think the trades lessen even more today. Makes for a beautiful sunset and sunrise but will make for a long day so, probably a good day to water the lawn (well water solar pump) cool the property down and make puddles. I have frozen Mango for the flock. They ot to love that!

My son’s preschool teacher has been calling him a Chicken Tender ever since we got him the first chicks. I can’t take too much credit but we’ve def ran with it.

Lol I used too. Then in 2010 I was pregnant with my second oldest and I had bad acid reflux from just water. I just recently had to have my esophagus stretched because of one of the reasons was my reflux.

The Carolina Reaper is hotter than the ghost pepper. By far! My husband was like oh it won’t be bad. So we looked up videos and researched it. You have to chew it up a like a lot so it doesn’t hurt your insides. My husband took the smallest bite and he was on his knees, throwing up, his face turned red. I recorded it. It was like 10+ min of hell for him lol. And he eats EVERYTHING hot.

And thank you! I wasn’t sure what all you did but I will have to do that for him!

Thank you! For know it’s good! And your absolutely right! I have 6 kids and I don’t recognize my body any more, they better know they are loved . Your hubby might wanna try the Carolina reaper. I would watch some videos first to see if he even wants to go through it.
